No updates for quite some time - months actually - this is because I've got more important things to do nowadays I'm sorry to say, but I'm happy to make the odd update, just please leave me to find the files (though the people from the past, like Richard I'm more than happy to receive mails from!) :) So here's a little update; it comes thanks to Richard Goniu, showing that GP2 is still alive :)

1982 - 1989 Hockenheim track by Richard Goniu

August 27, 2000: update by Malcolm Mitchell

Thanks to Marc Aarts // GrandPrix2.com, The GP2 History Project & related sites are back online. As most files aren't uploaded yet, there will be dead links, but all pages and images are uploaded. I'll upload the files (zips) in the next couple of days. The new address is: http://www.grandprix2.com/history/.

July 30, 2000: update by Malcolm Mitchell

Once I've finished uploading the missing covers of The Programme Covers Project I shall start to upload the missing downloads from here, and related historic sites/projects. Everything should be back to normal in about a week I hope. In the meantime, I've updated some files here:

1968 F1 Eagle cockpit by Martijn Haans
2000 CART Elkhart Lake track by Paul Josephson
        1977 - 1981 F1 Hockenheim track by Richard Goniu
1981 - 1986 F1 Notre Dame track by Mikael Olsson
1988 F1 Spa track by Daniel Booth

At The Programme Covers Project I've uploaded the missing covers up to about mid-way through S, and I've added new covers from Adelaide, Watkins Glen, Biggin Hill, Estoril, Silverstone and Brands Hatch + more in the next few days.

July 29, 2000: update by Malcolm Mitchell

The missing downloads will be completely added in up to two weeks time - I've got other sites to upload at the same time, and it's difficult to upload to each one equally - the files will be added though, so keep checking back to see whats added - I'll post my progress on this page in the future. In the mean time though, you can still browse through the site, as all the HTML is working, and not all downloads are missing, because of course some link to www.GrandPrix2.com huge archive.

May 28, 2000: update by Malcolm Mitchell

Sorry about all the problems over the last week or two, they've been out of my control. XOOM had locked out my account, and the site got purged accidently, so I've got to upload everything again, as there's over 230 MB of files for this site, it may take some time to get it all done, but I'll be as quick as I can - please be patient, there are bound to be dead links for a while.

May 12, 2000: update by Malcolm Mitchell

Here, I've finally added Gabriele Moschetto's Imola F1 2000 update, and Derek Hick's Barcelona and Silverstone F1 2000 updates. Better late than never, Derek :)

At The Programme Covers Project, thanks to another large contribution from Pete Allam, I've added covers to the Goodwood page from seasons 1960, '63, '64 and '66; Aintree 1960; Boreham 1952; Dundrod 1952; Montlhery 1965; Oulton Park 1958, '65, '66 and '68; Thruxton 1969; Reims 1962 and '56; Sebring 1959; Snetterton 1962; Spa 1967; and Silverstone 1950, '59 and '69. Thanks a lot for all them - sorry there was a delay of 2 or 3 days!! :)

May 8, 2000: update by Malcolm Mitchell

Here I've updated the F1 2000 page where I've put details of Mika Hakkinen's first win of the season at Barcelona. I've also updated The Programem Covers Project where I've added covers to the Kyalami page, from 1994, '95 (x2), '96, '98, '99 and 2000 from Superbike, International Touring Car, Formula 3000 and Sportscar races.

May 7, 2000: update by Malcolm Mitchell

Here I've added a trackmap to go alongside Bob Culver's Reim 1966 circuit. The trackmap is made by Paul Josephson, and has the same quality as his other covers, it can be found at the 1966 page.

At The Programme Covers Project I've added covers from Brands Hatch; 1959, '60, '64, '69; Rouen 1968 and Spa 1970 thanks to Pete Allam. James Pernikoff has sent me a programme cover for a race that hasn't even taken place yet, he got it from the qualifying session, and the race is today. It's from the Atlanta Dragway, which obviously makes it the latest programme cover here. And finally, Paul Hartshorne has sent me covers from the Brimingham street race from 1986, '87, '88 and '90.

May 2, 2000: update by Malcolm Mitchell

Here I've updated the CART 2000 page with the results from both Long Beach - where Paul Tracy won - and from last weekend's race at Rio, where Adrian Fernandez won a close race.

At The Programme Covers Project I've added two Kyalami programme covers, from 1992 and '93 thanks to Quintin Cloud. He's also sending me some superbike, international touring car and classic F1 car programme covers in the next few days which I'm looking forward to.

May 1, 2000: update by Malcolm Mitchell

At The GP2 Goes Classic Project I've finally updated the Track Configs' page with info that Marc Paysen sent me a long while ago (sorry, I forgot!). He sent info on Monaco, Monza, Buenos Aires, Hockenheim and Nurburgring. Also, at the Research Info page, I added some pictures sent to me by James Pernikoff off some classic racing cars: Eagle-Weslake and the 1969 Ferrari 312.

At The Programme Covers Project I've added more Road Atlanta covers from 1998, '99 (x2) and 2000; the Walter Mitty Challenge event held only this weekend (making it the most recent cover); all of those come thanks to James Pernikoff, continuing his outstanding contributions.

April 30, 2000: update by Malcolm Mitchell

At the CART section (all seasons; 1996 - 2000), I've added a modified Elkhart Lake track, by Paul Josephson, who modified Martijn Keizer and Roland Ehnstorm's original track; Paul also sent me trackmaps of Elkhart Lake and Laguna Seca, so you can find those at the CART sections, too. I've also added a paragraph in the CART section to explain and link to Les Danyluk's Westwood track.

At The Programme Covers Projcet, I've added a Silverstone 2000 and Nurburgring 1984 programme cover sent by Paul Hartshorne for which I'm most grateful. Hopefully to come from him will be about 130 covers from his F1 collection, so those are hopefully to look forward to (he's not confirmed yet), besides some of them may be duplicates. And James Pernikoff has reminded me of an error and some "lost covers" so those are sorted - check the Watkins Glen page for the 1991, '92, '93 and '98 covers that weren't previously visible.

April 27, 2000: update by Malcolm Mitchell

Les Danyluk has been working on Westwood (see earlier whats new for screenshots) for a while now, and has finished it (I think you'll agree after driving it, it's really quite a fantasticly thrilling track). Unfortunatly, there's no place for it at this site, but here is a link to the tribute track to Greg Moore's (Greg would've celebrated his 22nd birthday a few days ago) birth place. Also included in the zip is menu pics, a team car and 1964 carshape. I do hope to make a new section of this site for tracks such as Westwood that are historic, but not raced in F1, CART or BTCC - that'll probably done sometime in August (... long wait!).

At The Programme Covers Project I've added several new covers thanks to James Pernikoff and Martijn Haans including; an unofficial Brazilian GP cover from the 2000 race, and covers from Brooklands, Berlin, Guezireh.

April 22, 2000: update by Malcolm Mitchell

At The Programme Covers Project I've added covers from Silverstone 1958; Brands Hatch 1967 and '70 and Goodwood 1952 thanks to Pete Allam.

April 19, 2000: update by Malcolm Mitchell

I received another contribution from Paul Josephson. He's sent me the programme cover from the recent Champcar (CART, Indy Car) race at Long Beach, he was actually working as a race volunteer in Pit Control. That can be found at The Programme Covers Project.

April 17, 2000: update by Malcolm Mitchell

No updates here in a while. I thought we'd moved on from '98/'99 tracks, even '97 tracks, but still people are releasing them, but not the 2000 versions. I've added Nic Prins; Magny Cours 1999, Monte Carlo 1999, Suzuka 1998 and Belini's Buenos Aires 1997 tracks. At least people are updating 2000 carsets though. I've added Juha Viitala's 2000 carset to the relevant F1 pages. Although there's no place for it here (yet), a while ago Martijn Keizer made the Hockenheim track in it's new 2001 layout, I've done a CC-Line for it, and if you're interested, it can be download here.

April 10, 2000: update by Malcolm Mitchell

I've updated the BTCC 2000 page with the results from the first races of the season from Brands Hatch, and the CART 2000 page with the news of the the postponed race. At The Programme Covers Project, again thanks to Pete Allam, I've added the programme cover from the BTCC race at Brands Hatch that only took place over the weekend - how about that for service! :) That's the most recent cover in the collection, unsurprisingly!

April 9, 2000: update by Malcolm Mitchell

No updates in a fair few days. Well today I updated the F1 2000 page with the results from San Marino following Michael Schumacher's victory. Also, at The Programme Covers Project, thanks to Pete Allam again I've added many great historic covers from the old British race circuits; Goodwood 1949, '53 and '58; Crystal Palace 1970 (x2); Brands Hatch 1965.

April 2, 2000: update by Malcolm Mitchell

At The Programme Covers Project, thanks to Addie Walti, I've added many new covers from; Bern seasons 1935, '36, '37, '38, '39, '47, '48, '49, '50, '51, '52 and '53; Meyrin 1924 (one of the oldest covers listed here) and thanks to James Pernikoff, courtesy of his friends I've added covers from Atlanta Speedway 1992 and '96. Addie's covers all come from a book entitled "Grand Prix Suisse" by Adriano Cimarosti, "available in all good book shops"!!
