Track: South Loop Corner: All of it, since it is within the GP2 limit. Description: Just the fact that it has some history behind it. The people should know more about the circuit because it was overshadowed by the North Loop circuit. Carshape: Any Carset: Any Comments: Track: Nürburgring Corner: Karussel Description: Because it's....eh, quite good :) Carshape: Pre-1976 Carset: Pre-1976 Comments: Track: Kyalami (Pre-1984) Corner: Leeukop Description: Ah, just a great sweep! Carshape: 1983 Carset: 1983 Comments: Love it! Track: Brands Hatch (1974-1986) Corner: Paddock Hill Bend Description: Curving in section before tight main apex sharply downhill - don't run out of road (Warren Jenks's version is OK, but not quite there. TOCA got it right - I've driven the actual corner in reality). Carshape: N/A Carset: N/A Comments: Good idea for a project. As someone no doubt has already asked for the Karussell at the 'Ring, how about Schwalbenschwanz (the mini Karussell) and the whole Kesselchen section? Track: Spa Corner: Eau Rouge Description: Ummmm.... Carshape: 1970s Carset: Any 1970s Comments: Track: Brands Hatch Corner: Paddock Hill Bend Description: Well the hight changes all through the corner and on the entry and exit plus it being the first corner. Carshape: Carset: Comments: Track: "Best of Nürburgring" Corner: Some; see below. Description: Influenced by GPL: the Flugplatz-Section, Metzgesfeld to Bergwerk, Karussel to Hohe Acht. Maybe Schwalbenschwanz, but I think we're already coming *very" close to the Tracklength limitations. Anyway: those are IMHO the most daunting corners in F1 history. Spa's Masta-bend would come close, but wouldn't fit into a "Best of Nurburgring". Carshape: 60s or 70s Carset: Same as above. Comments: Main problem - as it seems to me - is that we're all still trying to drive the Nordschleife in GP2 (even Circuit Ultima looked to me like a "Nordschleife-wannabe"). As this isn't possible, I think we should go for a straightforward approach and leave all other tracks out. (But I think this ain't no great loss, anyway). Still, your idea is marvelous and is a good way to keep GP2 alive. If only I was better in trackediting or trackgraphics... Track: Zandvoort Corner: Tarzanbocht Description: Hairpin, famous.. nice history and always exciting Carshape: 1967 Carset: 1967 Comments: Make it as good as GPL :) Track: Nürburgring Corner: As many as possible. Description: Playing GPL, I always like driving the Ring the most. Its fast sections through the forests, uphill and downhill. It's almost like rallydriving in the mountains. It's just GREAT !!! Carshape: Carset: Comments: I think it's a great idea to build a track with the "real" corners of the good old days. Unfortunately, I stink in trackediting. See you and GOOD LUCK. Track: Spa' Corner: Masta Description: Splendid old track. Carshape: 1970 Carset: 1970 Comments: Track: Charade Corner: Last km or so, before the s/f line. Description: Very twisty, fast and downhill - similar to Rouen. Carshape: 1965/69/70/72 Carset: As above. Comments: The whole track would be awesome but I believe track is too long for track editor. Track: Zandvoort Corner: Scheivlak Description: There has been good and famous takeovers in the history of F1. And the bend is back (again). Carshape: Any Carset: Pre 1980s Comments: Track: Rouen Corner: The sweepers down from T1 to the Nouveau Monde hairpin. Description: Just you try driving it, with no wheels on the grass, getting the second right hand sweeper okay and remembering to brake bang on time to hit the apex of the tight hairpin properly. Carshape: Carset: Comments: Track: Monaco Corner: Gasworks Hairpin Description: Just 'cos it was really tight after a fast section ... and on your list of corners so far you don't seem to have much that's really, really tight and a good overtaking opportunity [I do now!]. Putting it after a fast corner and long straight would be good. Oh, and no run-off. Run-off's for wimps. Carshape: Carset: Comments: Track: Mexico Corner: That long one at the end (perelli was it). Description: Don't know if it was pre 80's, can't remember that far back (honest), but I loved driving the track in both f1gp and gp2. Carshape: The 6 wheel Tyrells would be cool... something that really shows it's age now (70 / 80 shape). Carset: Any Comments: Don't really remember F1 before about 85 ish,but I have heard lots about it. Good luck, can't wait to see the finished thing... Track: Monza Corner: Lesmos (8-9) Description: You pass the first Lesmo at the top speed, and you brake for the second one and if you are just a bit faster ... Smack!! Carshape: Carset: Comments: I give you this idea. Track: Spa' Corner: La Source Description: You go into it in 6th gear, and come out in 1st. Carshape: '99 Le Mans [I meant classic period, but never mind!] Carset: '99 Le Mans [I meant classic period, but never mind!] Comments: It would be a good idea if someone did the long Le Mans circuit because we have got the proper carsets/carshapes but no track. [This guy is obsessed with Le Mans!] Track: Dundrod Corner: Any of 'em. Description: I know it wasn't used for F1, but this classic Ulster track fits the bill. Carshape: Carset: Comments: Don't lose heart! People are still interested! Track: Silverstone Corner: Woodcote last corner before pit straight Description: A flat out right hander that has since been slown down with the addition on Luffield 1&2. Mansell was clocked at just under 200mph around it! Carshape: Jordan '98 Carset: 1998 Comments: Track: Zandvoort Corner: Tarzan Description: Very wide and fast, good for passing moves. Carshape: 1982 Carset: 1982 Comments: I would like to see a track with ads from the late seventies, early eighties. I thought that the original Ultima was disappointing, this one I feel will be better as the old tracks had better corners.
