Setups

Many people appear to be struggling to create good setups themselves. Therefor, I have decided to offer a page where you can download setups from to use as a base setup to finetune for your own specific driving style. These setups are made not garantueed to make be the fastest for you as they were made to fit someone else, but should give you an idea how the car should be set up for a specific track.

If you want to have a detailed explanation how to make a good setup yourself, I recommend reading the setup guides available here:

  • Eric Côté's setup guide

A very detailed setup- and track guide of all the original tracks. Eric explains how to set up the car and why he does it that way. He does this for all the tracks, telling you about the differences in tracks and how that reflects to different setups.

  • SimRacingNews' setup guide

One of the oldest setup guides available on the internet is back. John Wallace shows you the tricks to make a good setup with the help of Doug Arnao who is actually setting up and testing race cars in real life. Very easy to read and very comprehensive information.

  • Themis Kafetzopoulos' Guide

The newest guide available, and perhaps the most basic one. Themis wrote this guide after a lot of questions on the GrandPrix2.com mailinglist. This guide is intended not to be too technical and it should be easy to comprehend by everyone.

If all the information in these 3 setup guides is a little too much for you, and if you just want to race, you can download the setups below. Remember that there's nothing like a personal setup, but these ones below should get you started right away.

Perhaps you already have good setups, and want to share them with others. If you have something special to offer, please send the to me (don't forget the contribution rules). Please don't sent single setups, but try to make some collection. It would be nice to have setups for different seasons, differents type of racing (CART?). If possible, try to specify the track and the version you have made a setup for.

Enjoy!

It can be quite hard to set up the cars in GP2 as there are many options and everything can get quite confusing from time to time.

On this page you find links to several setupguides that will try to explain how to set up the car in great detail.

If you want to start driving rightaway, you can download some setups created by others as well.
